The Pinehouse to Missinipe canoe route is one of the most popular Churchill River canoe trips for those looking to spend a week on the water. This canoe trip starts on Pinehouse Lake (~220km from La Ronge) and offers different options to start from. Those looking to add a little extra distance to their canoe trip can start in the town of Pinehouse. Though most canoeists choose to start their trip just north of the town of Pinehouse at the Snake Rapids bridge or at Kamkota Lodge.
Note: Kamkota Lodge is a private lodge and requires a docking fee for anyone choosing to depart from their docks.
This beautiful trip down the historic Churchill River is full of different scenic attractions. Explore ancient aboriginal rock paintings along this trail. Visit the culturally significant Silent Rapids. This Churchill River canoe route from Pinehouse to Missinipe offers many established campsites to spend the night at. The portages on this trail are typically in great condition as this canoe route is often traveled.
The canoe trip ends in the community of Missinipe, but just before you finish your trip experience the rush of paddling under the Churchill River bridge down the famous Otter Rapids.
