Sturgeon-Weir River Amisk Lake to Sturgeon Landing

About this Canoe Route

Sturgeon-Weir River Amisk Lake to Sturgeon Landing

The theme of this short trip is whitewater fun! From your put-in at Amisk Lake Recreation Site to your takeout at Sturgeon Landing, you will be putting your whitewater paddling skills to good use.

The minimum skill level for this trip is intermediate as there are only two portages to access. At minimum, you will be navigating downriver through Class I & II rapids. There are portages for Crooked Rapids (Class II+) as well as a set of rapids just before the confluence of the Goose and Sturgeon-Weir rivers.

There are several great camping spots along the route, so extending your trip to camp at several of them and play in the whitewater is also a great option!
